An addendum of sorts: A comment was made that 5W-30 weight motor oil is 50% more viscous than 0W-20 weight motor oil. It's not. Consider Mobil 1, for example. Motor oil viscosity is usually measured in centistrokes per milliliter (cSt). Mobil 1 0W-20 weight motor oil has a cSt of 8.9 at 100 degrees centigrade, if I remember correctly. Mobil 1 5W-30 weight motor oil has a cSt of 11 at the same temperature. That works out to what, 22%? As a practical matter, you'll never notice the difference in Arizona, not in how your CR-V runs nor in its fuel economy. Again, you certainly can change your motor oil if you want, but IMHO it's unnecessary.
