To attract and introduce bluebirds to suet, try cutting limbs from bushes or trees loaded with red that bluebirds like, and place them near the suet to attract bluebirds. You can also put some on top of a fence post, or in a bowl covered with hardware cloth (to prevent Blue Jay robberies) near where they hang out, and then gradually move it closer and closer to the feeder. To add variety to their diet, you can mix suet in with some with suet (toss to coat the worms) in a , gradually reducing the mealworms until only suet is offered (otherwise they might only eat the mealworms).     We also enjoy seeing the bluebirds in Minnesota. I have never seen a bluebird eat suet. The chickadees and nuthatches will often eat suet in the winter.

      Hi Northernnarratives, Welcome! I also have noticed that the Carolina Chickadees and the White-breasted Nuthatches here sometimes will grab a snack of suet from my feeders. Have a fabulous day tomorrow!
